Set Up Your Gravity Water Filter

Welcome! Your system is ready to use in about 10 minutes. No tools, plumbing or power needed.

Gravity water filter (6L and 8L)

  1. Wash. Wash both chambers and the lid with warm water and mild dish soap, then rinse. Don't use soap on the carbon filters.
  2. Install the carbon filters. Insert the two carbon filters through the holes in the base of the top chamber and hand-tighten the wing nuts underneath. Snug is enough, so don't force them.
  3. Post-Treat filters (if you have them). Thread one Post-Treat filter by hand onto the stem under each carbon filter.
  4. Attach the spigot to the lower chamber, then stack the chambers.
  5. Fill the top chamber with cold tap water.
  6. Discard the first one or two batches. A little carbon dust at first is normal.

Then just keep the top chamber topped up and you'll always have filtered water ready at the spigot.

Care

  • Wash the chambers every few weeks with warm water and mild dish soap. Skip abrasive pads.
  • Never wash the filters with soap or put them in the dishwasher.
  • Carbon filters: replace every 6–12 months, depending on your water and use.
  • Post-Treat fluoride filters: replace every 3–4 months.
  • Replace sooner if the flow slows noticeably or the taste changes.

Shower filter and filtered shower head

  1. Unscrew your shower head (or the old filter) from the shower arm.
  2. Wrap the shower arm threads clockwise with plumber's thread-seal tape, 3–4 turns.
  3. Screw on the filter or filtered shower head by hand. If you're using the in-line shower filter, reattach your shower head below it.
  4. Run the water for a minute to flush the new cartridge.
  5. Replace the cartridge about every 3 months.
